This involves taking the diseased portion of the tooth (the pulp or nerve) so that the tooth can be maintained.
Root canals in general aren't nearly as bad as they are portrayed. Anywhere from 1-3 visits will be neccessary to complete root canal (endodontic) therapy.
Once completed, the tooth is in a brittle state therefore requiring the placement of a crown.
